MICROSOFT LAYOFF: affecting 10,000 employees

The wave of tech layoffs doesn’t seem to be ending soon, with Microsoft now joining the likes of Silicon Valley giants Meta and Amazon. Microsoft is firing at least 5% of its workforce starting today, according to various other media reports.
The year 2023 has begun on a bad note for tech workers globally and 91 companies have laid off more than 24,000 tech employees in the first 15 days this month, signalling worse days ahead.
The next two years are probably going to be the most challenging,” said Nadella. “We did have a lot of acceleration during the pandemic, and there’s some amount of normalization of that demand. And on top of it, there is a real recession in some parts of the world.”
